Lessons from the book of Joshua
Joshua 1:9 – One With God
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God [is] with thee whithersoever thou goest.
Learn to encourage yourself in the Lord. The normal course of life goes through times of trouble marked with abandonment by everyone but God.
1Samuel 30:6 And it greatly distressed David, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, each one for his sons and for his daughters. But David encouraged himself in Jehovah his God.
Forget about people understanding what you’re going through. The strength you have left is not for you to get people to understand your troubles but for you to overcome. Paying attention to the fact that nobody understands is focusing and wasting your energy, which is meant to be used to overcome the problem at hand, on what is not the problem.
As it has been said, “One with God is the majority.”
