Lessons from the book of Joshua
Joshua 10 – Travel Buddy
Gibeon was a great city but it fell. Once a stronghold falls, the rest of the opposition tumbles like dominoes.
A lot of people depend on you; you must not let them down. To them you are a stronghold. Your every success becomes the inspiration for others to make the attempt to succeed. Think about it, does the success of others not inspire you to try and achieve something too? On the other hand, it’s quite a risk to rest your hope and faith for your future on a person because they too can fall.
So what is the balance? Be inspired by the success of others, learn from their mistakes but chart your own course.
Hebrews 6:12 … be not slothful, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Hebrews 12:13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way, but let it rather be healed.
Hebrews 13:7 Remember those leading you, who have spoken to you the Word of God, whose faith follow, considering the end of their conduct.
You may travel with a lot of folks in a single vehicle, but you are not all going to the same destination.
