It has become normal for people to bring their problems to social media and ask for advice on what to do.
These answers being sought for can be life changing, for example, people ask questions about their health or marriage and I see a lot of comments and advice from people most of whom are complete strangers.
Usually, the advice given go in different directions and I can’t help but ask myself what advice will be person asking go with.
Recently, a mother asked for advice concerning her son’s eyes that were red and some people said go to the hospital, some others said apply breast milk. What will this mother’s decision be? Will it be based on the number of people that said go left or the number that said go right? What if 200 people said go left and 200 said go right, what will she decide? Same goes for marital problems, should she walk away from her marriage or stay based on popular opinion?
What decision will YOU make when you decide to bring your issue to social media?
Yes,it is true the bible says that in the multitude of counsellors , there is safety.
Prov 11:14 Where no counsel [is], the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors [there is] safety.
Prov 24:6 For by WISE COUNSEL thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors [there is] safety.
If there is wise counsel, then there will definitely be foolish counsel.
Prov 1:5 A wise [man] will hear, and will increase learning; and MAN OF UNDERSTANDING SHALL ATTAIN UNTO WISE COUNSELS:
Be careful where you go for counsel and from whom you get counsel. Be a man of understanding and go for wise counsel before you find yourself in a worse situation.
May God help us to know the difference between wise and foolish counsel and help us to understand where to get wise counsel.
Have a blessed day.
