MIRACLE TIME … Pt 4

Faith does not come by doing things that are signs of faith. The Bible offers only one way to obtain faith. Rhema. You know Rhema, right?

Q: I think so.

A: It is the word that God speaks to a specific person regarding a specific matter, showing that person what God wants him to do in order to achieve a specific result that God desires.

Let me define faith this way, it is the automatic spirit response to Rhema. Once a man has heard from God, faith is instantly born in his spirit and it comes with such a force that makes it impossible for that man to remain still. Faith will drive him to action.

You know what people mean when they see something and they say, I can’t unsee it? It means even though they wish they didn’t see the thing, the fact that they have seen it has permanently changed them. It is the same with Rhema. Once you have seen Rhema, you cannot unsee it even if you wanted to. It becomes like a fire shut up in your bones. It drives you to a certain action until the objective of that Rhema is delivered.

Isaiah 55:10-11  “Rain and snow fall from the sky. But they don’t return without watering the earth that produces seeds to plant and grain to eat. That’s how it is with my words. They don’t return to me without doing everything I send them to do.”

It is one thing to identify promises in the word and hold on to them, it is another level to hold on to God until you get the needed Rhema by which you then take action. This is part of the line between victory and defeat for us as believers.

Take a look at this story.

Acts 27:9 – 11  And as a long time had gone by, and the journey was now full of danger, because it was late in the year, Paul put the position before them, saying, Friends, I see that this journey will be one of great damage and loss, not only to the goods and the ship, but to ourselves. But the captain gave more attention to the master and the owner of the ship than to what Paul said.

Act 27:21 – 25  And when they had been without food for a long time, Paul got up among them and said, Friends, it would have been better if you had given attention to me and not gone sailing out from Crete, to undergo this damage and loss. But now, I say to you, be of good heart, for there will be no loss of life, but only of the ship. For this night there came to my side an angel of the God who is my Master and whose servant I am, saying, Have no fear, Paul, for you will come before Caesar, and God has given to you all those who are sailing with you. And so, O men, be of good heart, for I have faith in God that it will be as he said to me.

At the beginning, Paul had wisdom, and was right to be concerned about their safety. But after some time in prayer and fasting, he acquired Rhema and it changed his orientation to their outcome completely. This is what I mean.

Q: I am getting it.

A: I have experienced the power of Rhema borne faith a few times, if I share one of my testimonies with you, you might think I’m trying to parade myself as one man of mighty faith, so I am hesitant. But I hope you do understand what I am saying. Rhema is the key.

With Logos, that is the written word, we may wonder if we have picked the right scriptural promise, we may second guess our own understanding of the scripture and promise, they devil may bamboozle us by twisting that scripture or others around in our heads, we may begin to wonder if we have been in the right place spiritually speaking to be able to take delivery of that desired miracle, but with Rhema, all that is burnt away by the power inherent in it and it becomes impossible to lose.

So, man of God, what determines the timing of the miracle we seek is our faith borne out of the crucibles of the divine targeted spoken word of God. The moment we are able to lay hold on that faith, the supernatural response is instantaneous.

Q: Hmmmm. It’s a long one. I appreciate it. I was making a note of the questions I had.  As you progressed, I got my answers. Thanks, sir.

A: It’s long. No vex. As I said, with your current situation, the questions you had felt deeper than they may seem and they needed to be handled with a certain degree of reverence.

Q: I like how you took your time sir. Thank you. I don’t know what’s ahead of me. I only trust God to lead me.

A: That’s all you need, my sister. That is all you need.

MIRACLE TIME … Pt 3

The Bible says faith is the substance of things hoped for. Substance means the material of which a thing is made. So I can translate that to say faith is the material out of which things hoped for are fabricated.

Then it says faith is the evidence of things unseen. If something is evidence, it means it cannot be invisible. Evidence means visible tangible proof of something we cannot currently see either due to its very nature or its current location. This means that faith can be visible and it can be tangible.

The Bible records that Jesus saw the faith of some people who tore a roof open in order to get their paralysed friend to him. They were so convinced that all they needed was for Jesus to see their friend and he would be healed. They thought whatever the cost of fixing the roof later, they wouldn’t mind paying it. The Bible also records that Paul, while ministering, saw that a certain crippled man had faith to be healed.

Now, faith is a thing between you and God, but if a third party can see your faith, then definitely so can you. Part of our problem is that we don’t recognise faith … our own faith. We don’t learn to know when faith has been delivered in our hearts, so we assume that having done certain Christian spiritual things as a “sign of faith,” the desired miracle would manifest, whereas, the miraculous does not respond to signs of faith, but faith itself.

You can ask the seven sons of Sceva.

Q: Hmmm

A: If you have ever experienced faith before, you would remember that you knew that you knew that you knew that you were in faith and nothing else that happened that time could shake you. You pressed on confidently without any iota of doubt and you obtained your victory.

Whereas there were other times when you told yourself that you had faith for that thing, but in your heart you were not confident of your stand (for whatever reason). You were like someone watching a scary movie through their fingers. You are there in front of the screen, with a protective pose of your hand over your face but you crack your fingers open just enough to see when it is safe enough for you to relax again. This is how many of us actually do our “by faith” things.

Because we don’t recognise faith, we mistake a lot of things for faith. I’ve actually been slowly working on a series on this subject. Maybe I should speed it up.

MIRACLE TIME … Pt 2

Now, the concept of God’s own time for delivering miracles.

God is not constrained by time, we are. The fact that God knows when a particular thing will happen does not necessarily mean that is what he would have preferred if left to Him. You need to remember or be aware that things don’t just happen because God wills it. The fact is, once it has to do with anything in the earth realm, which is where time is relevant, God has to work with us. He has bound himself by that as a rule. For instance, God wanted the nation of Israel to possess a land set aside for them by a covenant that was about 645 years old at that time. They could have entered the land in 11 days that the actual journey from Egypt to Canaan took, but they didn’t inherit it until another 40 years later. Why? The people’s will … God had to respect it.

So, while we think we are waiting for God to move, most times, God is actually waiting for us to take the needed step. Essentially, on God’s part, everything has been accomplished. All that is left is for us to make the withdrawal and take delivery.

Q: I am here sir.

A: Since all things are ready, it means the timing is really up to us.

As far as I can see in the scriptures, God has a blessing already prepared for his people, but then exerts himself working to get his people to believe him enough to move in to take possession of all he has made ready.

The garden was there before Adam was made. The Promised Land was there before Israel left Egypt. In fact, the land was already theirs by divine promise about 215 years before they migrated to Egypt under the cover of Joseph’s government.

God never reacts to our circumstances. He is always ahead of us. We and our circumstances are the ones coming after him. If he set up the redemption plan, and slew the lamb before the foundations of the world were laid, is it our needed miracles that he would be holding back until a certain time? I really don’t think so.

Let’s take as an example, I used to say or think that Abraham waited 25 years for Isaac. But I later realised that it was God who waited for Abraham for 25 years. If you read the story with attention, you will realise that Abraham thought that his steward was going to be his heir. It was not uncommon in their day but that was not what God promised. Then later when Ishmael was on ground, he said in Genesis 17:18,  And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!

But God kept preaching the gospel of his promise to Abraham until he and Sarah believed.

Q: 😮

A: If you look at the timeline, you will see that at age 99, Abraham still rolled on the floor in laughter at the idea of having a child by Sarah. But Isaac was born when he was 100 years old. Pregnancy must have run for 9 months. So it means between that conversation around his 99th birthday and the date of conception, only a 3 month period elapsed. What changed? Abraham and Sarah finally believed for a child to come through Sarah. God did not move, they did. What they spent 25 years longing for came about after a heart shift that took 3 months or less.

Today is the day of salvation, now is the acceptable time to be saved.

Jesus never told anyone to go and return the next day in order to be healed. The woman he told to go away until the children were full insisted on eating the crumbs and she got the crumbs instantly. I believe Jesus had that conversation with her that day the way he did so that we can have this conversation today. It was the woman’s faith that determined the delivery time, not Jesus, just as it was Abraham and Sarah who determined Isaac’s delivery time.

You might remember that Jesus told some lepers to go and show themselves to the priest as required in the law for lepers who thought there had been changes to their leprosy, and to take offerings as required by the law for people who have been cleansed of their leprosy.

For us non-Jews reading the story in the English language, it might sound like Jesus did not make any specific pronouncement for their healing, but those 10 lepers understood what Jesus had said to them. A leper would not go into the town, let alone visit a priest, unless he thought he had been cleansed. Normally, the priest would need to confirm the cleansing before the former leper would then rush out to get the required offering and return to the priest to offer his worship to God. But Jesus told them, go to the priest and TAKE THE REQUIRED OFFERING WITH YOU. They understood that he directed them to act like they were healed because they were.

And here is the thing, none of those 10 lepers hesitated to follow the instructions. Now obviously, the healing did not manifest instantly, but the actions of those lepers indicate that they did not doubt Jesus at all.

It is one thing to be waiting for God to heal you, it is another to be waiting for the manifestation of the healing that you have already received.

Those lepers were in the latter mindset. They accepted that they were healed even though it had not manifested, and they acted out their faith until it manifested, and when it did, none of them was surprised.

So, I do not see any scenario in the ministry of Jesus where he held back a miracle until “his own time.” What causes the delay is us and the issues are always on our end of the relationship.
