Faith does not come by doing things that are signs of faith. The Bible offers only one way to obtain faith. Rhema. You know Rhema, right?
Q: I think so.
A: It is the word that God speaks to a specific person regarding a specific matter, showing that person what God wants him to do in order to achieve a specific result that God desires.
Let me define faith this way, it is the automatic spirit response to Rhema. Once a man has heard from God, faith is instantly born in his spirit and it comes with such a force that makes it impossible for that man to remain still. Faith will drive him to action.
You know what people mean when they see something and they say, I can’t unsee it? It means even though they wish they didn’t see the thing, the fact that they have seen it has permanently changed them. It is the same with Rhema. Once you have seen Rhema, you cannot unsee it even if you wanted to. It becomes like a fire shut up in your bones. It drives you to a certain action until the objective of that Rhema is delivered.
Isaiah 55:10-11 “Rain and snow fall from the sky. But they don’t return without watering the earth that produces seeds to plant and grain to eat. That’s how it is with my words. They don’t return to me without doing everything I send them to do.”
It is one thing to identify promises in the word and hold on to them, it is another level to hold on to God until you get the needed Rhema by which you then take action. This is part of the line between victory and defeat for us as believers.
Take a look at this story.
Acts 27:9 – 11 And as a long time had gone by, and the journey was now full of danger, because it was late in the year, Paul put the position before them, saying, Friends, I see that this journey will be one of great damage and loss, not only to the goods and the ship, but to ourselves. But the captain gave more attention to the master and the owner of the ship than to what Paul said.
Act 27:21 – 25 And when they had been without food for a long time, Paul got up among them and said, Friends, it would have been better if you had given attention to me and not gone sailing out from Crete, to undergo this damage and loss. But now, I say to you, be of good heart, for there will be no loss of life, but only of the ship. For this night there came to my side an angel of the God who is my Master and whose servant I am, saying, Have no fear, Paul, for you will come before Caesar, and God has given to you all those who are sailing with you. And so, O men, be of good heart, for I have faith in God that it will be as he said to me.
At the beginning, Paul had wisdom, and was right to be concerned about their safety. But after some time in prayer and fasting, he acquired Rhema and it changed his orientation to their outcome completely. This is what I mean.
Q: I am getting it.
A: I have experienced the power of Rhema borne faith a few times, if I share one of my testimonies with you, you might think I’m trying to parade myself as one man of mighty faith, so I am hesitant. But I hope you do understand what I am saying. Rhema is the key.
With Logos, that is the written word, we may wonder if we have picked the right scriptural promise, we may second guess our own understanding of the scripture and promise, they devil may bamboozle us by twisting that scripture or others around in our heads, we may begin to wonder if we have been in the right place spiritually speaking to be able to take delivery of that desired miracle, but with Rhema, all that is burnt away by the power inherent in it and it becomes impossible to lose.
So, man of God, what determines the timing of the miracle we seek is our faith borne out of the crucibles of the divine targeted spoken word of God. The moment we are able to lay hold on that faith, the supernatural response is instantaneous.
Q: Hmmmm. It’s a long one. I appreciate it. I was making a note of the questions I had. As you progressed, I got my answers. Thanks, sir.
A: It’s long. No vex. As I said, with your current situation, the questions you had felt deeper than they may seem and they needed to be handled with a certain degree of reverence.
Q: I like how you took your time sir. Thank you. I don’t know what’s ahead of me. I only trust God to lead me.
A: That’s all you need, my sister. That is all you need.
