What She Said

PREPARING FOR TOMORROW

Nigeria is a blessed nation not just in natural resources but in human resources as well. Nigerians in recent times have been graduating as best students in top universities in the world, emerging with outstanding achievements all over the world just to mention a few.

Nigeria like every other creation is waiting to be liberated by the the manifestation of the sons of God. The country is waiting to be rescued from the decay it is experiencing and it has been subjected to.

Romans 8:19-21 – For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected [the same] in hope, because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

Nigeria has a glorious future and that future is in our hands.

HOW CAN I BE A PART THIS GLORIOUS FUTURE?

Hebrews 10:7 – Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God

God never does anything without a purpose. God did not bring you in this world and drop you in Nigeria for nothing. God has written a story about your life and the direction your life should go. He has placed something in you not just for the church alone but also for our nation. There is something in you that the nation needs.

You can only be part of this glorious future when you take your place in the plan God has for you and this nation.

TRUTHS

  1. You are where you are today because of the preparations and choices you made yesterday.
  2. Time waits for no one.Whether you decide to prepare for tomorrow or not, tomorrow will come.
  3. You are already preparing for something either through your actions or inactions.

Failure is prepared for as much as success.

Failure to plan to succeed is planning to fail.

God told my husband that if you see an elderly man labouring to make a living in his old age, it only shows that he spent his youth making the wrong decisions.

You can decide how your future will look like by the choices you make today.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY TOMORROW?

  1. Discovery

Who are you?

Why did God make you?

Why are you here?

What is your life about?

What has God called you to be and do? Vision

These are questions you must get answers for. Everything concerning your life is tied to these answers. They affect everything. They will determine who you keep as friends , who you marry, what town to settle which business to go into etc.

God is the one with the answer and he wrote the book concerning your life, so go ask him.

Discovering who you are will clearly show you what direction your life should be headed.

  1. Information

Get the necessary information about what your life is about and the direction you are heading to.

Read books. Please read.

Get books in areas of your interest.

  1. Add value to your life.

What do you need to do or acquire for you to get to your desired dream?

Acquire skills: Spiritual, physical and mental skills.

Improve yourself. Improve on what you already have. There is always a better way to do what you are currently doing.

This is the tenth month of a 2015, what have you learnt to do these past months that you could not do last year?

If I think that I am too old to spend the required 10 years to acquire a skill in line with my destiny, in 10years time, I will be 10 years older without having acquired that skill.

Make sure you take a step towards your destiny everyday.

  1. Set Goals

Set achievable goals for yourself that will move you towards achieving your God given vision.

  1. Focus

You must maintain your focus.

James 1:8 – A double minded man [is] unstable in all his ways.

Mt 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

Lack of focus equals instability.

Solomon lost stability when he lost focus “for Solomon loved many women”. Initially it was “Solomon loved God”; he lost focus.

The same thing happened to his father, David. David could not build the temple of God, which I strongly believe was his destiny, because his hands were stained with the blood of the innocent man he killed. David was supposed to be in battle but he lost focus and saw a woman he was not supposed to be looking at.

Lack of a focus can rob a man of his destiny.

  1. Time Management

Time is a currency. Spend it wisely and do not waste it.

If a man sleeps 6 hours every day and lives to be a 100years old, he would have spent 25 years of his life sleeping. Imagine if I spend 6 hours of my day doing nothing or being unproductive?

We do not have the luxury of the men in the bible that lived up to 900 years so wake up.

Let leisure be payment for work done or time well spent.

  1. Think

You have been made in the image and likeness of God so your brain has the ability to reason and create. How can things be done better? How can I improve this or that? How can I get a better result? How can I make my business better? How can I make this company more productive?

It is not enough to just go to work every morning and earn a salary at the end of the month.

Thinking is the drawing board for inventions.

  1. No more excuses.

Excuses are ingenious reasons you generate to defend your right to fail and to continue to fail as though failure is an achievement.

You are not responsible for your background and the circumstances sorrounding ut but you are responsible for where you are headed.

  1. Training.

Whatever your vision or dream is in life, you have to be trained for it.

Get the necessary qualification or training that will move you closer to that dream.

You are called to be a writer for example, get training concerning the art of writing. Equip yourself in that field.

Strive to be the best in your field.

Lack of training is one of the reasons our influence is not more than the four walls of our churches.

Genesis 14:14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained [servants], born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued [them] unto Dan.

  1. Patience

Rome was not built in a day

Hebrews 6:12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

Delay gratification; this is the time to work, build and labour for the future you desire. Don’t eat your tomorow today. If you eat your seeds today, there will be no harvest tomorrow.

  1. Discipline

It is the trait of being well behaved, training to improve strength and self control.

If not for discipline and respect for God, Joseph’s destiny would have ended in the bed of Portipher’s wife and Daniel’s at the King’s table.

  1. Mentorship.

Submit yourself to a Godly person who has your interested at heart.

There are some things you can only see by standing on the shoulders of people that have gone ahead of you.

  1. Packaging

Package yourself for your destiny.

Let God shapen you.

Work on yourself; work on your attitude, emotions etc.

Hard work can get you anywhere but your attitude will determine how long you will stay there.

  1. Be humble.

A proud man can’t learn anything new. Teaching a proud man is like pouring water in a cup that is already full.

  1. Be prepared at all times.

The opportunities for you to rise to the next level will always come so you have to be ready to take them when they do come.

Happy independence day celebrations and God bless Nigeria.
